Gratuities
It is customary to tip your host in Southern Africa. A tip of between R300 to R500 per person per week would be regarded as normal. If you had exceptional service from your guide/host, you may tip him/her more according to your judgment.

Tariffs: The prices range from about ZAR 1,500 per person per night in low season at the more affordable lodges, to over ZAR 14,000 per person per night at some of the top luxury lodges. Normally the rates include all accommodation, 3 superb meals daily, game drives on open safari vehicles, and a daily guided bush walk. In some cases drinks are also included.
Transport to the lodge from Johannesburg (by road or by air) is included at competitive rates.

FLIGHTS• The easiest way to get to the Sabi Sands is by booking a direct flight from Johannesburg to the lodge.
• The cost of a direct flight is ZAR 1,760 one way or ZAR 3,520 return. It is a scenic 1 hour flight.
• You can also book a cheaper scheduled flight to the Kruger Mpumalanga Airport in Nelspruit, on Kulula.com, Nationwide Airlines or SA Airlink. Please email us for details.

ROAD TRANSFERS Road transfers from Johannesburg or from Nelspruit (Kruger Mpumalanga Airport) can be arranged.
• From Johannesburg the cost is ZAR 2,950 one way per vehicle and the trip takes about 6 hours.
• From Nelspruit the cost is ZAR 460 one way per person and the trip takes about an hour and a half.

A TYPICAL VISIT TO ONE OF THESE LODGES:
Day 1
Upon arrival at Mpumalanga or East Gate Airport, you will be transferred to your selected Lodge. Check-in and relax before departing on your first game viewing safari. This is a meaningful experience, as you are able to come within touching distance of Africa’s wildlife. Knowledgeable rangers will share the intricacies of these fragile eco-systems, their love and knowledge of the bush with you. Day 2
After an early wake up call, depart on another exciting game drive. Return to the lodge much later, enriched with your mornings activities to enjoy a delicious meal, relax and maybe have a noon siesta. In the afternoon depart on another thrilling game search with your ranger, and return to the lodge after dark for yet another gourmet feast.
Day 3
After your morning safari and the last opportunity to enjoy Africa’s wildlife, you will be transferred to the Airport where the tour ends.

Optional Extension – Day 4
You have the opportunity to extend your tour for another 3 nights. The itinerary is the same as day 2.
Day 5
After on last early morning game drive and brunch, we will venture on one of Mpumalanga’s most spectacular scenery. Your tour will take you to the breathtaking Blyde River Canyon, to view unusual rock formations, then onto the spectacular vistas of God’s Window, Wonder view, Three Rondavels and Bourke’s Luck Potholes, which are deep cylindrical cavities formed by swirling waters.

You will visit the quaint village of Pilgrim’s Rest, which has been lovingly preserved since the gold rush era and is now a National Monument. Your day will not be complete without a visit to some of the most beautiful waterfalls of the region. We then book in at our hotel by late afternoon.
Day 6
Today we visit a fascinating silk worm farm, the Mohloholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre, the Kapama Cheetah Breeding project at Kapama Ranch. You will be taken to East Gate Airport for your flight back to Johannesburg.
